Optometrist

Optometrists are healthcare professionals who specialize in diagnosing and treating visual problems. They conduct eye exams, prescribe corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses), and diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Optometrists often work in private practices, clinics, or hospitals, and they may also provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery. A Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree is required, along with state licensure. Optometrists play an essential role in maintaining eye health, preventing vision loss, and improving quality of life for patients with visual impairments.
